Sea trials of the Grandezza 34 Outboard and Grandezza 37 Outboard were conducted by Venemestari—a Finland-based magazine known for its practical, hands-on approach to boating—during the Finnmaster Press Day in Tanum in March. In this first spring test drive, both models highlight how switching from inboard diesel to outboard power transforms performance, handling, and layout.
The Grandezza 34 Outboard, powered by twin Mercury V8 300hp outboard engines, reaches up to 45 knots with a cruising speed around 25 knots. Compared to the inboard version equipped with a Volvo Penta D6 diesel, it delivers more speed, quicker response, and a redesigned aft layout with a traditional corner sofa and extended swim platforms—while also being quieter at startup and more competitively priced.
The Grandezza 37 Outboard takes performance further with twin Mercury V10 400hp outboard engines, offering higher cruising and planing speeds than its inboard counterpart fitted with Volvo Penta D4 diesel engines. While increased speed results in higher fuel consumption, the outboard version balances this with lower maintenance costs, smoother and quieter operation, and more responsive handling. Onboard facilities remain largely the same across both versions, but the outboard model stands out with its flexible, rail-mounted aft sofa that converts into a sunbed.
